Last week one of our momma's had a baby. She is in her 20's, comes from a single parent home, boyfriend left her. Unfortunately, the normal. While in the hospital, she has seen her baby boy a few times. This morning, her dr called to say that the baby had a slight fever, but for safety sake, take baby to the ER for admission.
As we sat outside the nursery at the hospital (and they all know me now by the way!), the momma and I were talking. We normally don't have the momma's come, but something in me said, just take her. We sat there and she said to me.
"Shr Mu, last night I was talking to the heavenly Father and thanked him for letting me be here at Morning Light, thanked him for letting me and my baby be safe thru delivery.I aske him to keep my baby healthy and safe,but today he has a fever!!" I explained that God did hear her, just that babies have to adjust to living outside the womb. But our conversation went further! She explained to me that she knows she was lazy and hard to work with while here, and she was so thankful for our patience and love, even when it was hard. My response? We pray for her, that her heart will be open to God. We can't force anyone to be a believer, but our prayer is that while here, she could see a difference in our ministry. Our prayer is that she does become a believer. I also told her that each momma we look to as a friend, not a case. God has brought each one here for His purpose, He knows what they need. We are just to show our love to them.
Then she said to me, I consider you and pastor like my parents, and the staff like big sisters. I am thankful that I got to know you all and will visit often.
Friends, this is what this ministry is about!!!!We are living God in front of our momma's, and they see it. We may not see the fruit here on earth, but we will see in heaven!!!
